MATTERS ARISING
People’s memories were put to the test and a couple of items were remembered.

- 5 sets of medical kit are now available. P McGoohan is to liaise with the 5 captains.
- Following the serious injury sustained by a player during Saturday’s match at the Bay, Paul McGoohan was to liaise with Bill Hall regarding emergency access to the pitch.
CHAIRMAN’S REPORT
- Alex reported that the Dinner held two days earlier had seemed to be both very enjoyable and profitable. Mike Deasey would cover this in his report.
- Alex also reported that the Club’s Business Cards had been received from the printer and various amounts were distributed to officers present.
SECRETARY’S REPORT
- No report was submitted. An action point for Andy to report to the next meeting was to finalise a date for the AGM.
CLUB CAPTAIN’S REPORT
- Not many matches had been played this month, wet weather taking its toll. Results had been OKish but there was obviously room for improvement. The 4th XI looked to be on course for promotion and provide the Club with its only medal winners.
- Paul said that February was a BIG month for the Club and that we needed to achieve some BIG wins across all teams to set ourselves up for next season.
- No more equipment was needed for this season.
- Paul has already started planning pre-season training in order to maximise our achievements next year following on from our successful recruitment this season.
TREASURER’S REPORT
- Lack of fixtures had affected income during January but was nothing to be worried about. Several Captain’s brought their accounts up to date during the meeting.
SOCIAL CHAIRMAN’S REPORT
- Stuart introduced himself to the committee and reported that plans for the Poker Night on March 3rd were progressing well. He will be recruiting a couple of people during the next couple of weeks to help marshal the tables.
- He was liaising with Mike Deasey re the Annual Dinner and Dance. A date of Friday May 18th was already in the Club diary and further details would be available at the next meeting.
- Stuart was looking into the possibility of having a Summer tour to the Brighton area coupled with entry to a large 5-a-side tournament being held in the area.
- He also raised the idea of a 5-a-side tournament being held at the Bay pre-season. This would be looked into, space was a problem.
FUND RAISING/SPECIAL PROJECT REPORT
- Mike reported that the 100 Club had now grown to 65 shares. Monthly prizes were increased to £50, £40 and £30 in January.
- Mike reported that the Club Dinner had been a huge success. His original target of a £200 - £500 profit was significantly improved upon by the incredible response to the shirt auction. The success of this part of the evening was due entirely to Paul McGoohan’s tireless effort. Mike also thanked Andy Shapland and Stuart Freeman for their efforts on the night regarding the table layout and handouts and collecting admittance money.
FIXTURE SECRETARY’S REPORT
- Darren reported that the Club had suffered a fine concerning the cancellation of an away fixture; apparently the away side also have to call it in.

RECRUITMENT SECRETARY’S REPORT
- Dai reported that he had spoken with Barry Berndes regarding students availability now that the School’s fixtures were coming to an end.
- Dai was targeted with planning recruitment ideas for next season.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS
- As usual Chairman Barnes had he last word and asked everybody to go away and think what their commitments to the Club would be next season. He hoped that everybody would continue in their current roles but knew that some people would have greater family responsibilities. This was to be discussed at the next meeting.
- By 21.45 we were all still very tired from our exertions on Saturday night and decided to call it a day.
